My name is Angela Riley and I was born and raised here in San Diego. I attended UCSD and earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Anthropology. At the time I studied forensic science and became a Board Certified Medical Investigator at Saint Louis University school of Medicine. Unfortunately, I was injured on duty and retired early. During that time, my youngest daughter was born, and I became interested in working with preschool children. I became my daughters Girls Scout Leader and enjoyed working with and teaching the girls very much. I decided to follow that interest and began working here at All Saints in 2011 as an instructional aid. I really enjoy my time here and returned to school to became a fully qualified teacher earlier this year. I am so happy to be teaching the Panda Bear class and share your child’s preschool experience.

It was at church that I discovered how much I enjoyed spending time with children. I have B.B.A. in Computer Information Systems I am currently working on an ECE degree at Mira Costa. I enjoy my job and I am so happy I made a career change. God's plan for me was to work with children, and I could not be happier doing so. I moved to CA from Louisiana in 2012 with my husband. We have one little girl and a chihuahua that keeps us busy. I like to spend time with my family, hike, and shop in my spare time.
Most importantly, children will learn social skills in our play based classroom. Children will learn and expand upon their gross and fine motor skills. We will learn songs, hear stories, and learn to sit and take turns at circle time. Children will learn how to solve problems on their own with the use of their vocabulary. All of our lessons (from art to music) will focus on physical development, language development, social/emotional, and cognitive skills. The California Department of Education created preschool learning foundations that show what knowledge and skills a child is capable of learning at each age level. This will be a huge inspiration in my classroom. Feel free to have a look:https://www.cde.ca.gov/sp/cd/re/documents/preschoollf.pdf
